"Top Secret Reveiw" January 6, 2009 I purchased this for my 10 y/o son who adores the writer Jeff Kinney. I am impressed with the way this writer has captivated my son's attention. My son has been reading his books since the 4th grade and we are anticipating the arrival of his latest book due to be released this month. Amazon service was excellent as usual.
Great for aspiring comic book authors!!! January 6, 2009 This book is a great addition to the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. It offers great opportunities for a child to journal, fill in blank comics, and draw in a book he can call his own. After receiveing many electronics and video games this Christmas, my son (age 10) still named this book his FAVORITE Christmas present. GREAT BUY!
Handbook not like other books but still worth buying! January 3, 2009 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Do not buy this book expecting it to be like the other WHIMPY KID books. This is just what the title says: DO-IT-YOURSELF. Encourage your kids to read it, write along, and be creative. Assure them it is safe for them to write whatever comes to mind. Tell them they do not have to share their writing with you unless they want to. If you have a child who is not excited about reading and writing, the DIARY OF A WHIMPY KID books and this handbook could change that completely. You might want to consider buying two books so you too can complete one and you can model the creativity and honesty that you would like to see your child reveal in his or her writing. This is an incredible opportunity to bond with your child while providing unique opportunities to improve writing and reading skills. Did I mention, you will laugh ever step of the way?
Great Way to Get My Son to Write... December 26, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
My 10-year old son began the journal and is halfway through. He is enjoying putting down his thoughts and ideas on every page. The book provides ideas, questions, statements to encourage writing. My son really enyoys it.
