Product Description Caldecott Medal winner Paul O. Zelinsky's first moving-parts book since the best-selling iWheels on the Bus/i is a beauty. To the verses of "This Old Man," an ingenious visual narrative follows a young boy as he ventures outside. Along the way, children can push tabs, turn wheels, or lift flaps to see ten different old men pop out of hiding to play Knick-Knack. Children (and critics) agree that iKnick-Knack Paddywhack!/i takes the interactive book to a new level of imagination. brbr Smithsonian magazine Notable Book for Children 2002br Parenting magazine Book of the Yearbr Newsweek magazine Top Pick for Kidsbr New York Times Best Illustrated Book for 2002br

Zelinksky's Animated Books are Incredible August 28, 2008 Hands down, Zelinsky produces the most spectacular animated books. My children have loved Knick Knack Paddywhack and Wheels on the Bus. I'm disappointed that I can't seem to purchase new copies of Wheels on the Bus (is it out of print for some insane reason)? These books are so good that I make sure to give a Zelinsky animated book to every new mother I know so that her children may experience the same pleasure mine have in singing the songs with me while working the different mechanisms on each page (they are truly inspired).
Delightful book January 2, 2008 My little two-year old friend loves this book. We've been reading it regularly before naptime for almost 5 months. Yes, it has delicate moving parts, but with the guidance of a grown-up, he can manipulate most of them. He is learning to be careful with a book. Many of the pages are "well-used" which I think is a sign that the book is loved. Even after 5 months of reading it several times a week, we have had fun finding items on the page that we have not noticed in previous readings. That's the mark of a great book. It holds our interest. We even named the boy in the book Devon. My friend calls it the "Old Man" book and requests it almost every day. The entire book is cleverly-designed, and the last four pages are particularly delightful!
Great book! Love it. December 29, 2007 My 3-year-old daughter loves this book! A friend bought her the "Wheels on the Bus" book that is written by the same author. Similar hands-on. She's loved that one for a year or so. We knew she'd like this one too. Can't say enough. So clever!! Only down-side is that it gets worn out quick with a toddler.
18 month old loved it September 29, 2007 I bought this for my son for Christmas last year. He was 18 months old then. We had to read it every night. The only thing is that he wasn't old enough to take care of it so a couple of things got torn but that was to be expected. He loves this book still and I would recommend it to any parent.
Not for little ones July 11, 2007 The book was cute and my kids loved it. Unfortunately they got into it while I wasn't watching and ripped the pull outs off. :'(
