Product Description
p center Fancy Words Are Simply Fascinating! /center /p p From everyone's favorite fancy girl comes an alphabetical guide to enhancing vocabulary. Why say beautiful when there are fancy words like gorgeous and glamorous? Instead of hello, try bonjour, which is French and so much fancier. An umbrella will keep you dry, but a parasol will make you feel like a Hollywood movie star! /p p With this helpful A-to-Z guide, Fancy Nancy shows that making plain words into fancy ones is not only educational, it's fun! /p

I told my granddaughters,(ages 8, 5, 4 3)that this book was written about me. The children love the beautiful pictures and sooo fancy words. It makes it okay to dress up and pretend to be someone special. Bling is fun. They love, love, love, these books. Grandmother Nancy.

3 out of 5 stars Fun Way to Build Vocabulary - a review of Fancy Nancy's Fav Words   December 27, 2008

We weren't acquainted with Fancy Nancy, but we will definitely be checking out more of her books in the future. (She reminds us a bit of Gooneybird Green: Gooney Bird Greene).br /br /In this book the focus is 'fancy words'. As Fancy Nancy explains, "[W]hen you use one in a sentence, it's like adding sprinkles to vanilla ice cream!"br /br /Generally speaking, the words are great choices: Accessories, Boa, Canine, Dapper, Excursion, Fiasco.... Each is given it's own page, a colorful picture, and a sample sentence, such as: "I dropped all the parfaits. What a fiasco!".br /br /The cover on the hard back is special. It has raised letters that are all fancy and sparkly. Definitely worth a trip to the library. This one will help build vocabulary in a fun way.br /br /The Accelerated Reading level is 3.2 which means that the average 3rd Grader in the second month of school should be able to read it themselves without getting frustrated.br /br /Pam T~br /mom and reviewer for BooksForKids-Reviews
