Product Description
Childrens classic adventure novel The Lions Paw, one of the most sought after out-of-print books of all time is back in print through the self-publishing efforts of the authors family. The Lions Paw is the first of a series of books written by popular childrens novelist Robb White to be published by the familys own publishing imprint, A.W. INK, Inc. The Lion's Paw, originally published in hardcover by Doubleday in 1946 and in paperback by Scholastic in 1954, has been out of print for many years. Copies of the Doubleday and Scholastic editions go for hundreds of dollars on eBay, Alibris and other rare book selling websites, and The Lion's Paw has been listed as one of the Top 10 Most Sought After Out-of-Print Books year after year by Bookfinder.com.Robb Whites widow, Annie White said, reintroducing The Lions Paw to generations of old and new readers is a celebration of love for our family and we hope to see the book back in school libraries and public libraries across the country. Annie White said, my daughter, Leslie and I receive mail daily from many readers who proclaim The Lions Paw to be their favorite book ever!

5 out of 5 stars A blast from my Past   December 14, 2008
I read this book as a child. It went out-of-print years ago and was only available used at prices exceeding $100.00. Recently re-published by the author's widow, it's a must read for children and adults alike, and more than worth the new copy price of $20.00. A truly uplifting experience. Please share this book with those that you love. br /

5 out of 5 stars This book changed my life!   December 6, 2008
This book changed my life. "The Lion's Paw" was the crucial step taken in becoming a life-long recreational reader. I was a thirteen year old boy, quickly becoming a young man. As a boy of that age, I desperately wanted to be "manly" and "tough." Thus, it was to my surprise that I found that a weeping while reading a book could be such a pleasurable experience. This was the book that opened the door for me, that showed me just how wonderful reading can be. It set me on the course of becoming a reader, one who reads for the pleasure of it. I was also surprised to find that it was the character of twelve year old Penny that I related to, rather than Nick or Ben. I have read and reread my original beat up paperback version many, many times. The story is as fresh and vibrant today as it was for me. It's an easy story to "live" along with the characters. If, by chance, you know any young people that love reading, or older than young people, for that matter, this is a wonderful book for them. I just purchased a copy to give to my young friend Bethany. I think she will enjoy it.br /br /
