Love Russell the whole series... July 20, 2008 The books in this series are among our favorite. My daughter is 2 1/2 and request that we read "Russell" almost every night. Adorable stories, AMAZING illustrations. I recommend all of the books - check out Russell and the Lost Treasure and the Christmas edition, too. Very cute, very loved at our home.
TOO CUTE April 23, 2008 My 3 year old twins love this book. Russell is adorable-the illustrations are captivating. This is one of our nightime favorites. We had checked it out of the library initially but found we had to purchase it for our collection.
WHAT DO SHEEP DO WHEN THEY CAN'T SLEEP? April 13, 2008 RUSSELL THE SHEEPbr /br /Russell is the cutest little sheep I have ever met! What a cutie! What a keeper! He tries everything he can think of -- from taking a walk, to counting stars, and various other methods! How many times have YOU tried falling asleep to no avail and counting -- counting -- SHEEP!!!!!br /br /The illustrations in this book are PRICELESS! The story line is funny and will keep your kids interested. A fun, beautifully illustrated book January 19, 2008 My two year old daughter adores this book. It was the first real story book she warmed up to and we've read it hundreds of times. The story is funny and sweet. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful while being whimsical and amusing in their own right. A great read that I would recommend to anyone.
Board book snoring sounds wouldn't work outside the store December 24, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
My daughter saw this book in the store and was infatuated with it. She like the illustrations and giggled at the snoring sounds every time she opened the book. I returned to the mall a few days later to do some Christmas shopping and included this book in my purchases. I checked to make sure it worked before I left the store -- no problems.br /Later that evening, I showed the book to my husband. It wouldn't snore! I opened it a dozen or so times, but nothing happened. A few days later, I returned to the bookstore and explained the situation, asking to exchange it for another copy. When I opened the book - voila! There was the noise! br /The clerk let me exchange it anyways, and we checked to make sure the new copy worked. When I got outside, I ran into some friends from church. During the course of the conversation, I showed them the book. I opened it, and it didn't make the noise. After repeated attempts, I went back into the mall, and back into the bookstore. It worked fine.br /At that point, highly frustrated, I asked if I could just exchange the board book for the original book, "Russell the Sheep", and pay the difference. br /It turns out that we like the unabridged version of the story better anyways. The original book, "Russell the Sheep" has beautiful illustrations, a bit sillier story, and is an overall better purchase. We will have to keep it put up when we're not using it, so that our 1 1/2 year old daughter doesn't tear the pages, but we are excited to read it to her every night! It is a book that parents and children alike will enjoy reading over and over again.
