Fancy Nancy January 7, 2009 My daughter had this on her Christmas list. So far she has really enjoyed it. It's not so much a story, though, it's more of an activity book (in the book it is called a glamorous emergency book). Each page gives tips on how to be fancy and how to make ordinary things fancy. The first page has an envelope with cards on making things fancy: stick frilly toothpicks in sandwiches, tape a feather to your pencil. The next page tells on how to dress up your hair and so on. It comes with silly glasses, bobby pin with paper butterfly, party place cards, a paper fan, a piece of lace and sequence to decorate with, a paper crown, and a few other things. It has the traditional Fancy Nancy pictures by Robin Preiss Glasser, very girly. It's not the kind of book you'll pull out before bedtime to read to your daughter, but she'll have fun making things "fancy". I also enjoyed Amazon's price compared to everywhere else.
What A Nice Kit! December 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this sight-unseen for my 6 year-old. Amazon says it's a 'Hardcover,' so I assumed it was a hardcover book. I would describe it more as a pop-up kit. She loves it!
Full of fun for your fancy nancy December 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My fancy little 4-year-old LOVES this book. It had a lot of fun activities for her to get into. The only thing we didn't like is that there are a few activities that involve mommy sewing things on socks, and this took away from the instant gratification factor that seems to be a must at this age. Overall, this was a big hit and I am sure we will eventually pick up another copy to give as a birthday gift sooner or later.
So fun! December 8, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is such a fun book. There are all kinds of pockets and activities inside. I had as much fun with this as my four year old did!
Lots of cool ideas November 5, 2008 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
Reviewed by Madeline (age 7) and Sophia (age 5.5) McElroy for Reader Views (9/08) br /br /We love the fancy glasses! We liked the purse; we pretended it was luggage for our trips around the world.br /br /Madeline: There are a lot of cool ideas about making glasses fancy. I don't see how they call this a book, because there aren't any pages!br /br /Sophia: I like the little book inside the purse.br /br /Parent Comment: This is a great accompaniment to the book "Fancy Nancy's Favorite Words" by the same author. "Fancy Nancy: Let's Get Fancy Together" by Jane O'Connor is a nice piece that got their imaginations going; that is always a good thing.br /br /
