A great church book January 2, 2009 We use this Toddler bible for our toddlers during mass and it does double duty: with its short sentences, bright pictures, and hundreds of pages, it keeps our toddlers quiet and entertained; and the simple explanations of the stories of old and new testament meant that our daughter and son were able to understand the basic stories of the bible before the age of 4. Reading this to them week after week, even for just the hour of mass, sparked lots of discussion and we were able to tie the stories in with the scriptures being read to the adults each week as well.
Too Watered Down For My Son December 18, 2008 My child is four and this book was too basic for him. This targeted for maybe 1-3??? For 4 or older might be too simple but if that is how you like to teach your child then you would like this.
Great for Toddlers! April 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When my husband suggested buying this Bible for our 3 year old son, I thought a 420 pages book was too much. But I was wrong, this Bible is exactly what you need for a toddler, stories are short, colors are great and I am sure any toddler will love it!
Great start for infants and toddlers! February 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you are looking for a way to introduce your baby or young toddler to the stories of the Bible - look no further! The Toddler's Bible provides an overview of many of the events and concepts in the Bible in very plain, simple language. Because each story is brief (4 pages) it allows the author to communicate the story of the entire Bible in one toddler book - something not usually tackled for this age of reader. This gives opportunity for parents and caregivers to introduce the concept of the Bible as a whole book to the very young child.br /br /There are pictures, colorful and uncomplicated, on every page and occasionally interspersed throughout the writing are questions that encourage interaction with the child. For example, in the section on Creation "...Do you see the moon? Do you see the stars?" and in the section entitled Baby Jesus, "Shhh, Do you see the baby? This is baby Jesus." br /br /Surely not the last book you will buy for the purpose of teaching children about the Bible, but for an introduction, V. Gilbert Beers has done a masterful job!br /br /br /br /br /
good, but not enough detail February 17, 2008 I bought this for my 2-year old, and was disappointed - each story is wrapped up in just a few sentences. So they're not so much stories, more like very brief summaries.
