1 out of 5 stars Poorly Written and Misleading   November 21, 2008
In order to get used to the new SAT format and questions, I picked out this book from a shelf full of similar sample tests, thinking that it wouldn't matter which one I chose. Was I wrong!br /br /My first inkling of trouble came from the critical reading sections. The questions themselves seemed a bit off, and the reasoning given for the answers was convoluted. Had the SAT really gone so far downhill? br /br /The first math section showed me the real culprit. The answers were verifiably wrong on multiple questions, and one set of choices didn't even contain the right answer! At that point, the book lost my confidence completely. If the math answers were off so often, how could I trust the more-subjective sections? How could I even trust that the questions were representative?br /br /Based on reviews here, I'll be picking up the Barron's SAT 2400 book and the official practice tests from College Board. I've learned my lesson.

1 out of 5 stars Very sloppy book!   September 16, 2008
I bought this book for my son to prepare for the SAT. Well, we found 3 errors in 5 sections of the first test. Two math errors and one incorrect answer in a Reading section. Don't buy this book!

1 out of 5 stars Test 1 has "problems" in the math section!   August 22, 2008

To find one mistake in an SAT prep book is disappointing -- to find multiple errors in the first of ten tests is distressing. My prep class will be taking the second SAT test next week, and we hope we do not uncover as many errors next week as we did this week.

1 out of 5 stars Math portion of the tests contains errors.   August 13, 2008

I am a math tutor. I usually check the problems before assigning them to my students. I'm on the second test and about to give up on this book.br /br /First, tests feel different from the official college board's tests. For example, too many problems in the Princeton's book contain extra information comparing with the 'official'. When I take official tests my results are very consistent. While Princeton's are not. br /br /I'm on the second test and have seen two errors already. One of the problems involved right isosceles triangle and it's area. In the explanation it was stated that the base can not ba a hypotenuse. Hmm... Am I missing something here?br /br /This is another problem (math test number two, section 9, #16)br /br /a=b+c-2br /a=c-d+9br /a=b-d+11br /br /Based on the system of equation above, what is the value of a? br /The choices: 2, 9, 10, 11, 20br /br /The book suggest to plug in 20 and then check that this works. And it does. The only problem here is that any other answer would work as well.br /

1 out of 5 stars Retarded book because....   July 16, 2008

...it's the same as the 2008 version, save for a few questions here and there. i'm a tutor and i was looking forward to the new 2009 edition. i was severely disappointed as i was looking forward to having a new set of sat practice tests to tutor with. don't the writers of p.r. know that they can make so much more money if new tests were produced every year? everyone knows that the only real ones are published by the college board, but p.r. does a decent job in mimicking the difficulty and subject coverage of the real sat's. yet, they just keep reprinting the same tests since 2006(?), maybe earlier. anyway, if you're looking for a set of fresh tests, look elsewhere. and go to the public library for the 2008, 2007, etc., editions.br /
