5 out of 5 stars Gift of LOVE   January 8, 2009
I purchased this book for a neice of my best friends! SHE LOVES it not to mention her mom and aunt both want to use it! I am delighted that my gift was so well received by the recepient and her family!

4 out of 5 stars worth it for the pretzels!   January 7, 2009
My kids received this cookbook from their Grandma for Christmas. They are both interested in cooking and this was a great additon to their small collection. The pretzels we made together were terrific and not too time consuming for a yeast dough recipe. The recipes are,as advertised, made for kids to learn to cook, measure, and follow a recipe. . . therefore some are so straightforward it is hard to call it a recipe (such as ants on a log). But overall, this is a super start and is full of Paula Deen personality!

5 out of 5 stars Great starter book   January 7, 2009
This is another great cook book from Paula Deen. It's a wonderful way to get kids started in cooking. The way the text is presented, cooking will be fun.

5 out of 5 stars Very nice cookbook for the little ones   January 3, 2009
Santa brought this cookbook for my daughter (age six) who had asked him for a recipe book. We've made several of the recipes already. My daughter enjoys picking through the recipes and choosing which one to make next. The vanilla cupcakes were delicious and the Bull's Eye was a hit. I've noticed that my picky eater daughter is much more likely to eat things she made herself. We also made the stuffed shells which called for cottage cheese instead of ricotta. They were good but next time I think we'll use ricotta. Other reviewers have complained that there are no photos of the recipes which is true, but there are usually cute drawings. Overall we really like the book. We've never seen the tv show but we're going to look for it.

5 out of 5 stars Great First Cookbook   December 29, 2008
I purchased this for my neice for Christmas. After looking through a stack of first cookbooks for kids, I went with this one because I liked the layout. The recipes were for things kids actually like to eat. The recipes were very straight forward and easy to follow. There were illustrations of all the needed utencils and ingredients. And finally, there were great tips for new cooks, like how to tell if an egg is fresh. I am way past the target audience age, but I seriously considered buying one of these for myself.
