Product Description
It won#8217;t only be the words that get readers tongue-tied#8212;these wacky, witty, and wonderful illustrations by Seymour Chwast will have everyone speechless with delight! Chwast, the artist and co-founder of the infamous Pushpin Studios, had an enormous influence on design and illustration everywhere. Now, he brings his unique perspective to 25 of the most entertaining tongue-twisters ever#8212;some familiar and others less so. He#8217;s created vibrant, original work that constantly surprises and amuses, whether it#8217;s his Heidi-like maiden with a small figure skiing down her dress in #8220;My Swiss miss misses Mississippi#8221; or his #8220;merry moose from Manitoba#8221; happily #8220;wearing moccasins from Minnetonka.#8221; No one will be able to resist the challenge of trying to wrap his or her tongue around such twisters as #8220;Giddy gladiators grow gladiolas#8221; and #8220;If Shep chews shoes what shoes will he choose?#8221; PAttractively packaged, and with a debossed cover, this is Chwast#8217;s first original book in years. It#8217;s sure to become a favorite in every family#8217;s library, whether to stimulate some fun verbal stumbles or just to pour over with pleasure.

1 out of 5 stars Sorry She's Selling Seashells in this Book   October 28, 2008

As a retired elementary teacher who has taught tongue twisters as part of the language arts curriculum, I gladly bought this book for my granddaughters. I was truly disappointed when it came. The tongue twisters are too short! The title one is well known and consists of much more than given in the book. This is true for others the author included. That it was in hardback thus having a higher price made it even more galling. I feel this book would only be appropriate for preschoolers and should be in paperback to lower the price.
