5 out of 5 stars Best Book Ever   January 4, 2009
I was in third grade when i first read this book ( that was the first time my mom gave in). I started it after dinner that very night, after completing my homework, and i read the whole thing. I was up untill 12:30 ( i don't recomend this on a school night). I loved how it showed a real 11 year olds life. I am ten now and it is basically how girls around this age are. I would recomend this book for ages 8+

4 out of 5 stars Eleven   June 13, 2008
I myself haven't read this book, but my 12-year-old niece loved it. I bought her "Twelve" for her 12th birthday. She immediately read it and wanted "Thirteen." After that she decided to go back to the beginning and wanted to read "Eleven." I applaud any author who can get a tween to read and Lauren Myracle seems to have found the right formula in this series. My niece and I both are looking forward to "Fourteen."

4 out of 5 stars Growing Up is Hard to Do   May 4, 2008
Birthdays which are memorable, for reasons both great and bad, happy and sad, stick with us. Eleven by Lauren Myracle details a year in the life of a girl named Winnie. Every chapter highlights a month in that year, starting on her eleventh birthday and ending on her twelfth birthday.br /br /Winnie often feels stuck in the middle. She's not a teenager yet, much less a grownup, but she's no longer a little kid either. With an older sister and a younger brother, she's the middle kid in her family. She's not sure what to do when her best friend starts acting differently, but, happily, she finds new friends who like her for who she is.br /br /Eleven is the first in a line of books about Winnie. She reminds me a bit of Phyllis Reynolds Naylor's Alice McKinley (who also has one shy best friend, one outspoken best friend, and frank family discussions) and Lois Lowry's Anastasia Krupnik (due to her relationship with her younger brother). If you like Eleven, make sure to pick up Twelve and Thirteen!

3 out of 5 stars eleven   January 24, 2008
I thought it was good and exciting book. It had a lot of intresting friend problems. It was a cliff hanger and I don't like that. I want to know what happened in the end.
