4 out of 5 stars Perfectly Fine   December 23, 2008
I found this book to be a great two hour time killer. I was lucky enough to be able to just sit down and read it without having it interrupted (which being in the military happens a lot, and that is one thing that I love about James as an author-short paragraphs). But it is a book geared towards the tween era and I have to wonder what age the people writing the "bad" reviews are. Is it up to par with his adult novels, absolutely not, but it is a sweet story that is great if you are looking for a simple escape. A word to all of the people who claim to be dissapointed, DON'T READ A BOOK FROM THE YOUNG ADULT SECTION AND EXPECT SOMETHING WITH THE COMPLEXITY OF PRIDE AND PREJUDICE.

1 out of 5 stars This book is a complete joke. Patterson should be ashamed.   December 17, 2008
A lot of the reviews here are accurate, except the ones that say this book is remotely good. I was stuck on a plane so i was forced to read this book and I literally could not believe that Patterson, who has done some great stuff in the past, would put his name on this book.br /br /Not only is it obvious Patterson had nothing to do with the writing here, but it seems like it was written by a ten year old. Its a cheap Men-in-Black copycat and is completely unreadable. These authors selling themselves out by putting their names on books they have nothing to do with is unethical and clearly bait and switch tactics.br /br /Don't waste your money. I swear if i was at the airport were I bought this I would have returned the book. I am an avid reader and this is the worst book i have ever read by far.

5 out of 5 stars Enchanting Review: The Dangerous Days of Daniel X   December 14, 2008
THE DANGEROUS DAYS OF DANIEL Xbr /JAMES PATTERSON MICHAEL LEDWIDGEbr /Young Adultbr /Little, Brownbr /br /Rating: 5 Enchantmentsbr /br /Alien Bounty Hunter Daniel has been living on his own since age three when his parents were killed by The Prayer, an alien looking for `The List`. Now fifteen, Daniel is determined to crack the top ten list and is set on number six Ergent Seth, a top level alien. But cracking the top ten of `The List' is a dangerous proposition, even for a skilled alien hunter like Daniel and he may wind up way over his head before its over.br /br /I absolutely loved THE DANGEROUS DAYS OF DANIEL X! Daniel himself is a great character, an alien who is an alien bounty hunter. His voice, his sarcasm, everything just clicks really well and helps make him one of my favorite characters of the year. I loved how he materialized his friends and parents, even a younger sister when the need arose. When he goes after Ergent Seth, he finds himself leaving Portland and heading to Los Angeles where Ergent Seth is already well aware Daniel is after him. And the lengths Seth will go to in order to scare Daniel away are br /br /Short chapters, a great premise and a great character in Daniel himself keep the story moving at a fast pace. Filled with a lot of great twists and turns, including one very jaw dropping moment involving Seth make this an amazing read. I can't wait for the next in this entertaining series! THE DANGEROUS DAYS OF DANIEL X is one book you'll zoom through in one sitting guaranteed.br /br /Learn more about Daniel X books at www.danielxbooks.combr /br /James Patterson is the author of the blockbuster series Maximum Ride and has sold more than 140 million books, making him one of the top selling authors of all time. 2 out of 5 stars Dumb Days of Daniel who?   December 11, 2008

I bought this and expected much more than i really got for the money. I thought hey i can't go wrong with a James Patterson especially after reading Maximum ride. BOY i was WRONG!!br /br /Daniel X is a young 15 yr old boy whose parents were killed by The Prayer, what is the prayer you ask? A praying mantis alien. Very original ...br /br /So without parents, family, or help he sets out to destroy those on "The List" left to him by his parents.br /br /He discovers that he naturally has supernatural powers. Of course..so along the way you see him talking to his dead parents, dead sister, and of course getting out of EVERY sticky situation. br /br /This novel was worse than Juvenile, it was like eating soggy carboard. Gross, soft, nothing to make you think hard, and very bland. br /br /Should you read this? Only if you haven't got any other books to read, in other words only if your stuck on a deserted island with only this book.

5 out of 5 stars Courtesy of Teens Read Too   December 4, 2008
From the first paragraph of THE DANGEROUS DAYS OF DANIEL X, the reader is intrigued with what is to come. James Patterson, in collaboration with Michael Ledwidge, creates a unique science fiction story that will especially appeal to the younger male population.br /br /Daniel is only three years old when his parents are murdered in the kitchen above him. The murder isn't a typical murder. It's one most of us wouldn't believe. You see, Daniel's parents are murdered by a 6-foot tall praying mantis looking alien, Ergent Seth. Seth has come looking for Daniel's parents because they are Alien Hunters. And they have The List. The List names the most horrific, evil, murderous aliens.br /br /As the story develops, Daniel shares with the reader his thoughts, and, more importantly, his various super abilities. Because, like his parents, Daniel too is an alien. But Daniel is able to blend in with humans. His parents had settled in Kansas, the most unassuming place for them to blend in.br /br /Daniel begins where his parents have left off. Daniel is 15 and has begun to hunt the aliens that are on The List. After a few successes, he decides to take on Ergent Seth. Seth is #6 on the list. Seth is probably more powerful than Daniel, but Daniel has revenge on his side.br /br /Daniel is taken on a wild adventure on his quest to defeat Seth. On his journey, he travels to Alpar Nok, the home planet of people like him, Alien Hunters. The biggest surprise is when he discovers his grandmother is still alive. But Daniel is determined to be victorious over Seth and continues on. Seth warns him it will be a battle to the death for one of them, but Daniel will not give up. The battle that ensues is imaginative, though maybe a bit gross in its description in the final scenes. br /br /With definite appeal to the teen boy audience, girls and adults alike will also enjoy the unique change of pace that James Patterson has taken with THE DANGEROUS DAYS OF DANIEL X. The action moves quickly as Daniel faces his greatest challenge. But of course, as one can expect with James Patterson, a sequel is not far behind: DANIEL X: WATCH THE SKIES in August 2009. And if you can't wait that long, check out the graphic novel: DANIEL X: ALIEN HUNTER.br /br /Reviewed by: Jaglvrbr /
